Browser workspace

Resume drafts, job tracking and cover-letter drafts save in this browser. Anyone with access to this browser profile may access them. They do not automatically move to another browser or device. Clearing browser data can remove your work.

Document processing

Your saved resumes, letters and jobs stay in this browser. When available, imports, resume checks and requested server downloads send the content you select to the document service for processing. This edition does not keep a saved document library on that server. Keep private backups before clearing browser data or changing devices.

Accounts, cloud backups and payments

When connected, account services store your profile, password hash, explicit cloud backup uploads and payment records on the account backend. Browser drafts stay on this device until you choose to upload a JSON backup. Session credentials stay in this tab. Payments use the selected hosted PayFast or Stripe checkout. Manage cloud files, export account data or close your account in Account & billing. Closing an account removes profile details and cloud files; the merchant transaction ledger is retained separately.

AI assistance

External AI writing is disabled in this edition. Guided writing ideas do not use an external AI service. The app does not verify your qualifications or promise an employer’s ATS decision.

Job alerts

Browser alert preferences and the latest 100 alerts stay on this device and are included in the browser data controls above. Browser checks stop when the website is closed. If you opt in to email alerts on the main CareerForge website, the email service stores your email address, recognised skill names and chosen filters to check new jobs while you are away. Your full CV is not sent to that service. Email subscriptions start after verification. You can choose daily or weekly delivery, change filters, replace the saved skill profile, pause or resume from Job Alerts after opening a secure email settings link. These one-use links expire after 30 minutes and open a protected one-hour session; closing settings or clearing browser data ends access on this browser. Pausing keeps the email profile but stops its checks and summaries.

Deleting browser data or closing an account does not stop a separately verified email subscription. Use the unsubscribe link in an alert or verification email to remove the subscription, skill profile and pending matches. Manage browser alerts in Job Alerts.

Personal details

Avoid adding identity numbers, bank details or sensitive personal information. Obtain permission before including another person’s contact details as a reference. Downloads are private files on your device; handle and share them with care.
